Learner display at GJR International School (EYP - grade 3)

4th March 2023

“Tell me and I’ll forget. Show me and I may remember. Involve me and I learn” - Benjamin Franklin"

On the 4th of March 2023, the EYP, grade 1, grade 2 and grade 3 of GJR International, showcased various skills they gained from learning beyond the classroom doors. They proved that the IB curriculum spins its yarn through learner profiles such as open mindedness, knowledgeable, being an inquirer and principled

The EYP kids were fun to watch having grown from crying toddlers during their earliest days of school to growing into a well-disciplined bundle of energy. Kids tricked the parents with their puzzling questions on various topics such as smell of food items, colors, numbers etc. which left parents amazed about their sharp and quick learning skills and smart application of these skills when they changed sides with their parents.

Progressing to grade 1 level, the conceptual understanding of the ideas of sustainability and conservation of energy at this young age was simply amazing. The display of solar and lunar eclipse for the theme “How the world works” and the confident explanations to intercepting questions from parents showed excellent thinking and communication skills

Taking it further to grade 2, they confidently displayed their creativity by sharing the models based on the themes ‘How the world works’ and ‘Where we are in place and time’. They built models showing how different houses use various materials based on their local availability. They compared the features of houses in the past and present using Venn diagrams. They were successfully reflective about how we can save the earth by using alternatives to plastic and take steps to sustainable development
