March Events at GJR International School

Events March 2025 3rd March 2025 G4 Student Conference On 3rd March 2025, students of Grade 4 hosted the student conference/ display in the school auditorium to encourage students to showcase their talents and innovations. The event began at 10AM with a welcome speech. Students participated in mime on government systems, made budget plan with parents, helped parents to sketch a smart city along with Hindi and Kannada skits. The “cherry on the cake” was the Bihu and the Bhangra dance. Students also presented their projects and models on simple machines. The event received a lot of appreciation and was a huge success providing the students a platform to display their creativity and scientific temperament. 7th March 2025 G5 Student Learning Display Grade 5 students impressed with their insightful presentations on Where We Are in Place and Time, How the World Works, and How We Express Ourselves. They showcased their understanding through creative stage plays, hands-on experiments, and a captivating civilization-themed fashion show. Their teamwork and collaboration made the Student-Led Conference a remarkable success.   14th March 2025 Sr-KG Graduation Day GJR International School celebrated its Graduation Day on Friday, 14th March 2025, with immense joy and pride. It was a special day to honor our young learners as they completed the Early Years Program and prepared to step into the next stage of their education. The event began with a warm welcome, followed by a showcase of the children’s learning experiences, which made everyone proud. Each student received a graduation certificate, marking their achievements and growth. Parents, teachers, and staff cheered as the young graduates walked with confidence to receive their certificates. The teachers congratulated the students and encouraged them to keep learning and exploring. It was a heartwarming and memorable day, celebrating the hard work and success of our Early Years Program of 2025.

These incredible skaters have put in countless hours of practice, training, and commitment to reach the podium, and we couldn’t be prouder of their accomplishments. Their success reflects the passion and dedication that drive the skating community forward. The event featured obstacle courses, relay races, and balance walks, all designed to encourage coordination and teamwork. Parents and teachers cheered as the young athletes showcased their skills. Fun races added a special touch of bonding and joy to the day. It concluded with a medal and certificate distribution, recognizing the efforts of every child. The Sports Day at GJR School highlighted the importance of an active lifestyle, perseverance, and teamwork in a fun and engaging environment. 12th February 2025 PKG Student Learner Conference The Future Begins Here With an emphasis on games, animal care, and pet care, the PKG Student Learning Conference at GJR International School was a fun and educational event. Children enthusiastically shared their expertise once the teachers introduced the themes. Children made guesses while parents took part in the entertaining role-playing games. One of the highlights was a storytelling session where kids demonstrated a profound comprehension of pet care and wildlife ecosystems. An upbeat dance performance marked the event’s conclusion, leaving parents appreciative and yearning for the encore. 12th February 2025 JKG- Learner Conference Together We Achieve The Extraordinary At GJR International School, junior kindergarten students showcased their confidence and excitement at a junior conference. They gave entertaining presentations filled with rhymes, stories, and songs, leaving a lasting impression on the audience. Their composure and eloquence were a testament to their educational path and the supportive atmosphere they thrived in. 17th February 2025 Grade 2 Learner Display 2025 Learning unfolded Monday, February 17, 2025, was the day of the Grade 2 Learner Conference. Students were able to demonstrate their understanding and relate it to the actual scenario in an engaging and significant way. Students discussed the abilities and qualities they gained while researching the inquiries during the conference. As students actively participated in activities, it also provided the parents with a fantastic opportunity to be involved in the educational process. Seeing the students confidently guide the parents through their educational path was encouraging. 19th February 2025 SKG Learner Conference(2024-2025) During the SKG Learner Conference, students shared their knowledge, abilities, and reflections with parents and instructors. They demonstrated growth in literacy, numeracy, environmental awareness, and social-emotional development through interactive presentations, displays, and discussions. The conference emphasized students’ confidence in voicing opinions, connecting with others, and asking questions. 21st February 2025 Grade 1 Student Conference Creating a community of learners Parents were actively involved in their children’s educational journeys owing to an interesting and dynamic Learner Display event organised by grade 1 students. The auditorium was converted into a dynamic educational environment with something new to discover around every corner. The event’s highlight was the opportunity for parents to participate in the activities, which allowed students and their families to learn together in a collaborative setting. The exhibit was a celebration of the young students’ diligence and love of learning. For everyone involved, it was a day full of education, joy, and enduring memories. 24th February 2025 Grade 3 Learner’s Fusion: A Celebration of Creativity and Learning The Grade 3 Learner’s Fusion was a vibrant display of creativity and knowledge, where students showcased their talents through engaging performances and interactive activities. Students impressed the audience with expressive dance performances representing the power of natural disasters, blending art with education. A heartfelt skit on Malala Yousafzai’s fight for children’s rights inspired meaningful conversations and admiration. Adding to the excitement, students dressed as mystery characters from famous stories, challenging parents to guess their identities and rewrite parts of the story—fueling creativity and laughter. Math turned into an exciting adventure with a hopscotch challenge that made addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division a fun experience for everyone. Students also proudly displayed creative models and research on natural disasters, bringing real-world learning into focus. The event concluded with parents sharing thoughtful reflections, filling students with pride and reinforcing the joy of learning. Grade 3 Learner’s Fusion was a resounding success, leaving lasting memories and a deeper love for learning. 28th February 2025 BIOMEDIANZ – PYPX GRADE 6 Grade 6 students hosted an interactive exhibition on the topic “Biomes and Media” as part of their PYPX, The exhibition showcased their creativity and talent with a series of performances that seamlessly integrated multiple subjects, including music, dance, art, ICT and language, on the topic “Biomes and Media’’ which showcased the students learning on the characteristics and diversity of different biomes, as well as the impact of media on our perception

Events January 2025 17th January 2025 Founder’s Day Honouring our Past, Inspiring our Future GJR International School celebrated its annual Founder’s Day, a special occasion to honour the vision of our founder, Svargiya Gurappa Jayaram Reddyavaru. The day began with a soul-stirring invocatory song performed by our students, followed by a heartfelt speech from our principal, Ms. Neelam Ravi, who reflected on the school’s rich history and the enduring values instilled by our founder. A video presentation showcasing the school’s journey left our fraternity and student body in a sense of awe and pride. The day turned out to be memorable, reinforcing our commitment to the legacy of excellence and community that continues to shape the future of our school. 26th January 2025 Republic Day Celebration 28th January 2025 InterClass Skating Competition 30th January 2025 SNIS Dance Competition Epic Moves, Iconic Memories GJR International School is thrilled to announce that our talented dancers have achieved outstanding success in the interschool dance competition. Our Grade 9 students secured first place in the Group Dance category with their electrifying performance. Additionally, Yuktha Praveen from Grade 5 won second place in the Solo Dance category, impressing the audience with her elegant moves. Events December 2024 10th December 2024 Chocolate Workshop Unleash Your Inner Chocolatier: A Sweet Adventure! Young culinary wizards, Grades 2 and 3, embarked on a delectable quest into the heart of chocolate! They unveil the magical process of turning ordinary ingredients into extraordinary treats. With imaginations as boundless as their appetites, these budding chefs crafted their own unique chocolate masterpieces. 12th December 2024 Cupcake Workshop Decorate, Delight, Devour GJR International School recently hosted a delightful cupcake workshop, where students had the opportunity to unleash their creativity and baking skills. Under the guidance of expert instructors, the young bakers learned the art of decorating cupcakes with intricate designs, colorful frosting, and edible toppings. The workshop was a huge success, with students thoroughly enjoying the hands-on experience with their beautifully crafted cupcakes. The event not only fostered creativity and teamwork but also provided a fun and interactive way for students to develop their fine motor skills and attention to detail. 14th December 2024 Literary and Cultural Fest Sustainable Development through Artistic Expression Carafesta, a literature and cultural fest, was recently hosted by GJR International School, showcasing the school’s commitment to sustainability, creativity, and social responsibility. The event, themed around the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), featured literary events, cultural performances, and sustainable food stalls conducted by the school. The fest raised awareness about the SDGs, inspiring individuals to take action, and demonstrated the school’s dedication to fostering a culture of sustainability, inclusivity, and creativity. 15th to 17th December 2024 Field Trip to Yercaud A Memorable Field Trip to Yercaud GJR International School organized a three-day field trip to Yercaud, a picturesque hill station known for its serene landscapes and lush greenery. The students embarked on thrilling adventures, including trekking through scenic trails and participating in campfire activities. They also participated in a community service project, painting the walls and gates of a government school, which enhanced the school’s appearance and instilled a sense of responsibility and pride among the students. The trip allowed students to connect with nature and appreciate their surroundings, resulting in unforgettable memories, stronger friendships, and a deeper understanding of community service. The trip exemplified the school’s commitment to holistic education and fostering well-rounded individuals. 19th December 2024 Grandparents’ Day Celebrating the love that lasts a Lifetime GJR International School Early Years Program (EYP) celebrated Grandparents’ Day on 19th December 2024, honoring the invaluable presence of grandparents in our lives. The event included engaging activities to foster bonds between generations, such as games and creative craft-making. The highlight was the children’s heartfelt performance of dances and songs, expressing love and gratitude for their grandparents. Grandparents shared their life experiences and values, emphasizing the importance of family and traditions. The day served as a reminder of the special role grandparents play in shaping young lives.

Events November 2024 9th November 2024 District Skating Competition On November 9 and 10, 2024, the Bangalore District Roller Skating Association (BDRSSA) held a district skating competition for students aged 3 to 16 years. More than fifty rural and urban schools in Bangalore took part in the competition. We are thrilled to report that our school’s students performed remarkably well in the race. In a variety of categories, EIGHT students have secured positions. The names of the winners are shared below. Vivaan naga Bandaru Grade 3 secured 1st place in 1000 mtr and 2nd position in 500mtr. Lalitha Sahasra Aiytha Grade 4 won 2nd place in 1000 mtr and 3rd position in 500mtr. Pullakanam Banshi nivas Grade 5 secured 2nd place in 1000 mtr. Heartiest congratulations to all the winners!! 11th November 2024 InterHouse Dance Competition Inter-House Dance Competition Our inter-house dance competition delivered an electrifying evening filled with captivating performances. The audience was treated to a showcase of grace, energy, and passion as our talented dancers mesmerized everyone with their moves. The event was a celebration of rhythm and creativity, leaving lasting memories of the magic of dance. 12th November 2024 Fieldtrip to Fire Station Our preschoolers had an amazing field trip to the fire station! The excitement was palpable as we arrived and stepped into the world of firefighters. This fun and educational experience gave the children a chance to learn about fire safety, meet real firefighters, and see the fire trucks up close. They were fascinated by the tools and equipment used every day. The firefighters shared stories about their jobs and answered all the kids’ curious questions. The firefighters demonstrated how the hose pipe operates, the kids enjoyed seeing the hoses up close and learning how they are used in real emergencies. Overall, this trip was a fantastic opportunity for our preschoolers to learn in a fun, hands-on environment. 13th November 2024 Inter School Skating Competition An interschool skating competition was held at EURO School (Whitefield) on 13th November 2024 for the students aged 3-16 years; thirty-five-plus schools across Bangalore participated in this competition. It gives us immense pleasure to share that students of our school have done exceedingly well in the race. Six students have won positions in different categories. Naidu, held on November 16, 2024, at GJR International School, equipped participants with essential knowledge and skills in fire prevention, detection, and suppression. Expert instructors provided comprehensive training, covering fire safety awareness, detection and alarm systems, fire extinguisher operation, evacuation procedures, and live fire training. Participants gained valuable insights into fire hazards, risk assessment, and emergency response planning. The interactive workshop aimed to educate and empower individuals in fire safety, fostering a culture of prevention and preparedness. With positive feedback from attendees, the workshop successfully enhanced overall fire safety awareness, confidence, and expertise among participants.  18th November 2024 Kannada Rajyotsava Binding us Together At GJR International School, we celebrated “Kannada Rajyotsava Day” on November 18th with a lot of fanfare. The atmosphere of the Kannada language was palpable. Since it was their home festival, everyone took part equally and with great fervour. The children performed dances and songs to highlight the festivities. Everyone in Karnataka should study Kannada, appreciate all the languages, and preserve them for the upcoming generation. This message was beautifully conveyed, and everyone got it.The entire school took part solemnly and magnificently in the celebration of this momentous day. 19th November 2024 Candle Making Illuminating Creativity: Candle Making Workshop at GJR A creative and engaging candle-making workshop was successfully conducted at GJR International School recently, drawing enthusiastic participation from individuals of grades 8 to 10. Participants learned about candle-making techniques, fragrances, and patterns. The event emphasized eco-friendly practices and natural waxes. The workshop was a success, attracting participants interested in candle making as a hobby or small-scale business. The organizers expressed gratitude for the success. 18th November 2024 Soap Making DIY Natural Soap-Making Workshop Our students explored the art of crafting beautiful, eco-friendly soaps using natural ingredients like essential oils and herbs. They learned the science behind soap-making while customizing scents and colors to create unique, skin-safe masterpieces. This hands-on session combined creativity with sustainability, leaving everyone inspired and proud of their handmade soaps! 21st November 2024 Childrens Day Adventures Play, Explore, Inspire: The Ultimate School Carnival GJR International School hosted an electrifying carnival on November 21, 2024, offering students an unforgettable experience. The action-packed event featured thrilling activities such as wall climbing, rope climbing, and zorbing, testing students’ physical limits and teamwork skills. Exciting attractions like obstacle courses, rock climbing, zip lines, and mowgli walk added to the adrenaline rush. With beaming smiles and cheers, students left the carnival with lifelong memories, fostering camaraderie, confidence, and a sense of adventure. Events October 2024 28th October 2024 Spooky Halloween and Chef Day Celebrating Halloween with early years was a delightful and engaging experience! During a Halloween trick-and-treat session, children in spooky costumes visited the higher grades, while seniors performed tricks for younger children. In order to encourage healthy eating and basic food preparation, children cooked simple sandwiches and fruit salads, paired with their buddies from higher grades, and celebrated Chef Day with fireless cooking after the performances.

Students led interactive games, explaining their purpose and relevance to literacy, numeracy, and arts integration. Parents were welcomed in color-coded groups, which added to the organization and inclusivity of the event. The occasion strengthened collaboration between educators and parents, fostering an environment that supports student development both in the classroom and at home. September 2024 G1 Conference During the PEEKATLEARN session, Grade 1 parents participated in a scavenger hunt, documenting their experience by creating a route map. As part of the second line of inquiry, they also crafted gratitude notes to express their appreciation for teamwork, highlighting how much they enjoyed and valued the collaborative spirit of the activity. September 2024 G2 Conference Grade 2 students participated in a transdisciplinary conference on environmentally friendly housing and sustainable cities. Parents gathered in groups as the young learners explained their tasks, engaged with questions, and received encouragement from their parents. This interactive setup fostered a deeper understanding of sustainability concepts and strengthened the learning experience. September 2024 G3 Conference Learners Fiesta 2024: A Celebration of Diversity and Unity The Learners Fiesta 2024, organized by Grade 3 students, was a vibrant celebration where students, staff, and parents gathered to experience a rich tapestry of cultures and history. These interactive sessions provided opportunities to learn new skills and fostered a deeper appreciation for the significance of diverse cultural practices. September 2024 G4 Conference GJR Space Odyssey 2024 Grade 4 students hosted a student-led conference titled “GJR Space Odyssey 2024,” exploring themes of space, rights, and responsibilities. The event brought together students, teachers, and parents to experience the limitless possibilities of the universe while reflecting on their shared responsibilities. With engaging games, puzzles, and interactive activities, the event fostered creativity, respect, and a strong sense of community in learning. September 2024 G5 Conference Genetics Loads the Gun, but Lifestyle Pulls the Trigger Grade 5 students hosted a conference to showcase their learning outcomes to their parents, centered around the body’s systems and governance. The event featured engaging activities like yoga, street play, and Zumba, through which students shared their understanding of bodily functions and the fundamental rights enshrined in the Indian Constitution. Parents were encouraged to share their reflections, adding to the enjoyment and engagement of the program. 14th September 2024 Career in Defence Forces Unlocking Careers in Defence: NDA Webinar with Commander P.N. Siva Subramaniam On September 14, 2024, GJR International School hosted a webinar featuring Wing Commander P.N. Events August 2024 August 2024 Guest Talk on Healthcare Connecting You to Better Health GJR International School hosted an enlightening online guest lecture on healthcare systems for middle school students. Dr. Tabish, an esteemed expert with an Irish fellowship in anesthesiology and a Master of Medicine from China, led the session. Dr. Tabish highlighted the crucial role of effective healthcare systems in advancing public health and medical services across various countries, including Oman, Ireland, China, and Bahrain. During the engaging Q&A session, students asked insightful questions about the future of global healthcare. The lecture provided an in-depth and thought-provoking exploration of modern healthcare systems, giving students a richer understanding of current global health challenges. August 2024 Inter-School Dance Competition We Dance and Conquer Congratulations to the talented dance team of GJR International School on their outstanding achievements! They clinched 1st place at Gopalan International School and won both 1st and 2nd places at Vydehi School of Excellence. Their hard work and dedication shone brilliantly on stage. August 2024 Inter-School Football Competition Strategy Meets Skill, Football Triumphs On August 7 and 8, the school enthusiastically hosted an inter-school football tournament, attracting talented young players from 12 schools. The event showcased remarkable sportsmanship, teamwork, and talent, establishing itself as a premier sporting event on the academic calendar. Thoughtful scheduling and logistics ensured seamless gameplay, while excellent playing conditions and safety measures provided a secure environment for all participants. The tournament was a tremendous success, fostering teamwork, discipline, and a passion for football among players. The school looks forward to hosting future competitions and inspiring young athletes to strive for excellence. 15th August 2024 Independence Day Honoring Sacrifices, Celebrating Freedom! On August 15, 2024, GJR International School celebrated the 78th Independence Day, joining the nationwide festivities with great enthusiasm and a patriotic spirit. Chairman Dr. GJ Vijaykumar, Managing Director Mr. JV Akshay, and Principal Ms. Neelam Ravi unfurled the national flag, marking the beginning of the celebrations. The cultural program commenced with a soulful performance by a group of students, followed by an inspiring speech from the school captain, who honored the sacrifices made by our soldiers. The energy soared as students showcased a captivating dance tribute to the nation’s army and police forces, serving as a powerful reminder of the bravery of those who have fought valiantly for our freedom. The day was filled with joy, love, and respect for the country, instilling in students a deep appreciation for the freedom achieved by our nation’s great leaders. The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks from the school vice-captain, sending students home with a profound sense of pride in their nation—a beacon of diversity, equality, and inclusivity. 24th August 2024 YLAC Guest Talk “Empowering Young Leaders for Social Change” The Young Leaders for Active Citizenship (YLAC) program held a webinar at GJR International School, discussing the role of young leaders in societal progress. Shahen Pardiwala highlighted the importance of giving young leaders freedom to own their ideas and engage in community involvement. The webinar provided a platform for networking, learning, and growth for young leaders, highlighting the value of empowering them for social change.   31st August 2024 Career Counselling Providing great strategies for career growth GJR International School held a “MIND GROW” seminar on August 30, 2024, to help parents and children navigate career exploration and planning. The seminar, led by professionals Mrs. Indu and Mrs. Preethi, focused on career paths, labor market changes, and acquiring competencies for future success. The seminar targeted grades 9 and 10 and aimed to address specific concerns and goals. The one-on-one interaction between organizers, parents, and kids helped raise awareness and encourage proactive measures towards future objectives.

Events July 2024 July 2024 Chess The chessboard is the world, the pieces are the phenomena of the Universe, the rules of the game are what we call the laws of Nature and the player on the other side is hidden from us. Chess is a game of not only intellect and cunning, but of bouncing back after losses, practice, discipline and persistence. This statement proved true by Chinmaya Vyas of GJR International School, who won the Under-16 boys interschool chess championship. He played six rounds with a total of 150 participants at GEAR International School. The expertise that he has developed in chess at such a young and tender age is commendable and inspiring for all. July 2024 Counselling Workshop for Parents GJR International School conducted an interactive workshop about identifying learning and behavioural difficulties in children for parents and teachers Of EYP and PYP 12th July 2024 Skating “In every competition, there are no winners or losers, only learners.” – Brian Herbert The Skating Inter-School Competition, held on July 12th, brought together young skating enthusiasts from schools across the region, showcasing talent, skill, and sportsmanship in an exciting display of athleticism. The event was hosted at GJR International School and celebrated a shared passion for skating and friendly competition. Over 250 skaters from nearly 12 schools in Bengaluru participated in various events, including squad skating, inline skating, tenacity races, and toy inline skating, organized by grade level. The winning students were awarded medals and certificates in recognition of their achievements. The event concluded with a commitment to return next year, aiming to be bigger and better and to continue inspiring young skaters to pursue their passion and strive for excellence in both sport and character. July 2024 French Day Assembly Vive le 14 juillet! GJR International School’s Grade 9 students collaborated with French students from Grades 7 and 8 to create a skit on the French Revolution and its Independence. July 14, 1789, is also known as Bastille Day in France. The students authored the screenplay and choreographed the French dance performance. July 2024 Music Competition Celestial Notes for the Discerning Ear GJR International School held an Inter-house solo singing competition for students. Keeping the competition’s fundamental goal in mind, NOT TO WIN, BUT TO PERFORM, students were given the flexibility to perform their favourite songs in their preferred language. They enthusiastically participated in both the preliminary and final rounds, maximizing their potential. They took part in the competition with passion and zeal. A day to reflect on the beauty of nature and our obligation to preserve it for future generations.The initiative was set up by Grade7 students at GJR International School to raise awareness and safeguard wildlife. The students happily developed their own screenplay and performed an act to educate everyone about nature and its importance. July 2024 In-house Football Competition Thrills, Goals, and Glory Students from four houses competed in an inter-house football tournament at the school. The competition featured teamwork and athletic prowess in the senior, junior, and girls categories. It strengthened ties between classmates from other houses and grades and promoted pride and solidarity among the school community.
