INSPIRING A LIFE-LONG
LOVE OF READING.
Our spacious and well-stocked library is the center of information literacy where reading and research is an engrossing activity of the day. The students have an easy and guided access to the wide catalogue of resources in print, audio and digital form in this resource centre. The library maintains a growing collection of the latest early years and young fiction, knowledge books, journals and periodicals. We strive to help students connect to literature, inspiring a life-long love of reading.
Each classroom in early years and primary school has its own reading corners as well, stacked with the Theme related resources and year related fiction to fill in their spare moments.
Each collection is appropriate to the grades it serves, and all students receive instruction in the use of library resources. Library resources are open to all members of the GJR community. The library is an integral part of regular academic curriculum and conducts regular creative activities in reading, story-telling, organizing book clubs, book swaps, author visits, and helps design the annual newsletter. The students are encouraged to make reading a habit by allocating sufficient time for the students in the programme schedule.
