Library - Resource Center: A Mind Palace
Every Book is a New Adventure
We motivate students to dive into literature, inspiring a life-long love for reading.
A spacious library is an essential feature of the best international schools.
Reading expands the child’s knowledge, exercises the brain, and hones their thinking abilities.
The GJR International School has reading corners in each classroom, stacked with theme-related library resources. We also provide essential library infrastructure for students. Children are exposed to a huge collection of books in different genres, from textbooks to fiction. Our students are transported to a wondrous new world through reading.
The Bliss of Reading
Library Resources at GJR
Our library spaces are divided into 2 sections:
- The Early Years Section
- The Primary-Middle School Library Space
These are the captivating features of our library:
- Each collection is tailored to meet the library resources appropriate to the grades.
- With the help of our educators, we have systematically curated a large selection of print as well as digital reading resources.
- We encourage students to make healthy reading habits a priority by allocating sufficient time in their schedule.
- Creative activities, such as storytelling and book clubs, form an integral part of the academic curriculum.
- Activities for Early Years: Our tiny tots get to display their storytelling and reading skills at school events. They also play different literary games, such as discovering new words with a given alphabet.
- Activities for Primary and Senior Schools: Several literary events are conducted for primary and senior school students. Events like National Reading Day are celebrated, where activities such as storytelling, book discussions, etc., are performed. We also conduct vocabulary games like word hunts and anagrams.
The Hub for Exploration and Inspiration
Libraries are much more than storage spaces for information. They are dynamic spaces where people come to learn, access resources, and grow intellectually.
Librarians are more than keepers of information. They are informational tour guides. Their expertise can help discover the right books, websites, and other materials. Without their help, scanning and unearthing information would be an extremely time-consuming process.
Librarians also provide valuable assistance in research, reference services, and technology support. Their dedication to helping patrons navigate the vast world of information is essential in fostering a love for learning and knowledge.
