To encourage and develop sportsmanship, the first Interschool Roller Skating Championship was held on 10th December 2022 at GJR INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL BANGALORE. More than 335 skaters from nearly 33 schools in Bangalore participated in the competition.
A dance competition was held at GJR International School, and several students took part with enthusiasm. The children explored and performed a variety of dance styles such as classical, folk, western forms, and so on, stepping outside of their comfort zones to discover their strengths and skills. Not just the dance, but a range of music from many cultures and languages were selected to perform on in addition to dance.
As part of the celebrations at GJR International School, learning engagements like quizzes, riddles, talks, trick your peers, and other collaborative games like Math relay, Math quiz, Guess predict and approximate the weight of objects, tic-tac-toe using math concepts were organized. The students participated with great zeal, and enthusiasm and enjoyed the event. These activities gave the students an opportunity to enhance and exhibit their logical thinking skills, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
As Christmas eve is around the corner, the celebrations at GJR International School created a different experience with Newspaper Snowman in the school library. This accelerated the enthusiasm of students of all grades to participate in various vocabulary game engagements like word hunts, anagrams, and sentence formation. They also connected with Christmas vocabulary like carol, singing, and choir, to fetch out different figures of speech. Early years were into finding new words starting with the given Alphabet and pictures from the Newspaper Snowman.
Education is not only confined to reading and writing. It is linked to the holistic development of children. To experiment with the knowledge of students and to provide them with different opportunities to showcase their skills “Science Lore” a science display was organized for the students of high school by the department of science in GJR International School on 21-12-2022. It was a wonderful tool that engaged students in learning new facts, it developed a lot of curiosity to learn more in an interesting and experimental way.
