June 2024 21st June 2024 World Environment Day Today’s whole school assembly explored World Environment Day. The students shared ideas on how to beat plastic pollution and make a change in the world they live in. This informative assembly, covering the transdisciplinary curriculum was quite enriching for the whole school. The culmination was done by planting saplings and creating posters to spread awareness. 14th June 2024 Trailblazing Leadership for a Better Tomorrow World Music Day 2024 Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality. —Warren Bennis The Investiture Ceremony of GJR International School was held on June 14, 2024 surrounded by an aura of enthusiasm, expectation and joie de vivre. The newly elected Student Council for the session 2024-25 was sworn in, cheered on by parents who had joined to celebrate the occasion and bless the children. Donning the mantle of accountability, the young leaders pledged to perform their duties to the best of their abilities, as they were conferred with the badges and sashes by the dignitaries. With tremendous passion, students from different classes put on a wonderful musical presentation and mesmerized the audience with their renditions of beautiful tunes. This celebration of music not only helped the students’ entire holistic development, but it also made the kids aware of how important music is to our lives. 21st June 2024 International Day of Yoga “Inhale the future, Exhale the past. Find peace and solace in the present moment through yoga.” Students at GJR International School actively participated in International Yoga Day on June 21st, creating a dynamic display of harmony and well-being. It uses yoga as a means of enhancing both mental and physical health. In order to experience the transforming potential of this age-old practice, teachers and students joined together for a series of yoga classes. Students and staff gathered on the school yard for an energizing opening ceremony to start off the program. The air was heavy with excitement and expectation as participants were ready to set out on a voyage of self-discovery. The school prayer, creative yoga, and a unique yoga performance kicked off the day. Before effectively ending the day with the topic of “Yoga for Self and Society,” the attendees engaged in a variety of poses, breathing exercises, and meditation techniques.
