Grade 1 Shines_ A Journey of Learning and Reflection

The student-led conference was successfully conducted for the Grade 1 students this month.
 This conference provided an opportunity for students to take ownership of their learning by showcasing their work, reflecting on their progress, and sharing their learning journey with their parents and guardians. The focus was on student agency, reflection, and communication skills.

The students demonstrated how different subjects are integrated through their Units of Inquiry. They also showcased their developing skills as communicators and inquirers by explaining their learning process and achievements with confidence and enthusiasm. Parents remained engaged throughout the conference and were extremely supportive, offering positive feedback and encouragement. Teachers guided the students by allowing them to take ownership of leading the conference.

This conference was more than just a presentation—it was a celebration of growth, effort, and the joy of learning.

Annual Day Celebration – The Magical Toy Box

“The Magical Toy Box: Where Childhood Dreams Sparkled on Stage”

The Early Years Annual Day at GJR International School was nothing short of spectacular—a vibrant celebration that brought imagination to life in the most enchanting way!

The theme, “The Magical Toy Box,” cast a spell on the audience as our little stars transported everyone into a world of wonder, laughter, and joy. The story unfolded through two siblings drifting into a dream where their favorite toys and characters leapt to life. From cuddly teddy bears and playful clowns, to fearless superheroes, dazzling Wonder Woman, cheerful choo-choo trains, and enchanting Disney princesses—the stage burst into a kaleidoscope of colour, music, and magic.

Every performance was a delightful display of innocence, creativity, and boundless energy, as our Early Years children owned the stage with confidence and joy. Their sparkling smiles and imaginative acts reminded us all of the extraordinary power of stories to inspire hearts, both young and old.

The evening was not just a showcase of talent but also a dazzling celebration of collaboration, inquiry, and creativity—core values of the IB philosophy. It was a proud, heartwarming moment for parents and teachers alike, as the children lit up the stage and made the Annual Day truly a magical memory to treasure forever.

First Aid Awareness Activity – Grade 7

“Prepared, Calm, Confident – The First Aid Way”

First aid is the immediate care given to a person suffering from an injury or sudden illness before professional medical help arrives. To promote awareness and preparedness, a First Aid Activity was conducted by the Grade 7 students of GJRIS, showcasing essential life-saving techniques and responses to common emergencies.

The main goals of the session were to:

  • Educate students and peers about the importance of first aid.

  • Demonstrate practical skills for real-life emergency situations.

  • Build confidence among students to act responsibly during medical emergencies.

The activity included practical demonstrations of CPR, bleeding control, burn treatment, fracture handling, and the recovery position. Through role-plays and the use of basic first aid kits, students showed how to remain calm and respond effectively in various emergency scenarios.

The session was both informative and engaging, equipping students with confidence and essential life-saving skills. It highlighted the vital role of first aid in everyday life and inspired everyone to be better prepared in emergencies.
